Term used to describe how much information you can pull (or send) through an existing connection. Bandwidth is primarily measured in bits-per-second or 'bps'. A dial-up connection can usually travel at 56,000 bits per second. Dial-up connections are slowly loosing its popularity since it hardly measures up to todays standards. Cable and DSL markets have dramatically improved the last 5 years and prices for these services are constantly decreasing.
